About the Author
Sonny Wong is a marketing professional who stands at the intersection of marketing and sustainability. He is creative director of Hamazaki Wong Marketing Group and founding director of the Nature Agency. Where one organization perpetuates a culture of consumerism, the other strives to create a culture of environmentalism.
Sonny is a thought leader whose work has appeared in Adweek, Huffington Post, Medium, and Strategy, and who spent four years as Business in Vancouver’s marketing columnist. Three decades as creative director of Hamazaki Wong Marketing Group, an award-winning agency serving an international client list, showed him the contradiction the industry has preferred not to examine: a discipline built to sell more, operating in a world that cannot produce more. He calls this tension marketing angst, and his long commitment to sustainability gave him both the conviction to examine it and a new framework for doing so. Sonny is a committed leader who has served on multiple community and not-for-profit boards. He lives in Vancouver, Canada.
